You might remember John Lapp, the former executive director of the DCCC. He helped Rahm Emanuel recruit congressional candidates for the high-stakes midterm elections in 2006.
Recently, I attended the premiere for a new documentary film called HouseQuake at DC’s E Street Cinema — I wrote about it for Washingtonian magazine. Following the premiere, Lapp participated in a panel discussion and toward the end he shared this little nugget with the audience:
“I do remember trying to find those last recruits and having a tough day, I thought I would have a moment to myself at the DCCC men’s room, at the urinal. As I was just trying to collect my thoughts, I get this shove from behind me and [Emanuel] goes: ‘What about Pennsylvania 8?’”
Hah! He’s terrifying…
